BOOK YOUR MONTANA FISHING TRIP HERE

big brown trout on the missouri river

Early June fishing report

Well, the story here around the Flathead Valley hasn’t changed a whole lot. We are still going out on small lakes trolling and using nymphs, midges, and balanced leeches under an indicator. Everybody is having a great time despite the conditions not being ideal quite yet.  That being said all the guides, myself included are all getting antsy for the rivers to come into shape. No one knows for sure but I feel like we’re still a couple of weeks out before our local river the Flathead is ready to go. After a big heatwave, the snowmelt has the river is flowing near flood stage. This week brings a drop in temperature and may cause a drawn-out run-off. Or maybe she is ready in a week….we will let you know as soon as we know!

If your wanting success with big fish….don’t hesitate to call and book with us for the Missouri River over on the east side of the mountains. The river did blow out for a few days but is now back in shape and fishing from Holter Dam all the way to Cascade. Nymphing has been the most successful, but we have started to see the first few PMD’s bringing some dry fly opportunities, especially later in the day.

Thanks everyone talk to you soon!
