BOOK YOUR MONTANA FISHING TRIP HERE

Rogers lake Cutthroat Trout

Bigfork, Kalispell, Flathead Valley Fishing Report

There is a light at the end of the tunnel around here. Our home water, the main stem of the Flathead River is on the serious drop and it could be fishing today or definitely within the next few days! The first couple of weeks after the river comes into shape is probably our favorite time of year. Our native west slope Cutthroat Trout are usually more than willing to come up to your favorite dry fly. If they get finicky there, you’ll be able to find them with a dropper: San Juan worm, pheasant tail, and stonefly nymphs; rubber legs should be in your bag of tricks. If you are looking for a more leisurely day as opposed to floating in the high water, our local lakes are providing plenty of fish. If you are around Bigfork, Columbia Falls, Whitefish, or anywhere in the Flathead Valley give us a call.

We still have a major presence on the Missouri River through the end of this month and beyond, if you are willing to make the drive out of the Flathead Valley in search of some trophy trout. The dry fly fishing has really started to pick up with the PMD hatch becoming more and more consistent every day. And yes, nymphing is still good. Call or email now to get on the books! Cheers, and thank you!
