OK, fishy friends! After an above-average high water season, we are finally on the verge of greatness (as great as the Flathead gets anyway 🙂 ). Our boats out yesterday all had good reports, dry-dropper fishing and single DFO were very effective. I personally caught fish on numerous different flies, telling me that the fish are hungry. Patterns that were working: Golden Stone dry on top, dropping Prince Nymph, PMD jig, San Juan worm, and Pat’s rubber legs. By mid-morning/early afternoon you could roll a solo Parachute Adams, Purple Haze, or Mahagonny and just cruise and have success! In theory, the fishing should stay in shape and be fairly consistent for the next couple of weeks. Also, our travel destinations are fishing well.
