Flathead River Fishing Report
We always say “Sept-ober” is our favorite month. The crowds are down. The water is cooling off, and the trout have the “need to feed”.
It’s still a little early, but we have already seen our first appearance of the October caddis on a couple of different rivers.
We have been having good luck on top with a copper colored chubby size 10 or 12.
A good caddis pupa a few feet below it never hurts! Our best dry fly action has been in the afternoon. Start looking for more fish to congregate at the bottom of the runs..
