Flathead River Fishing Report
Runoff season is very much among us! But wow, we might be setting up for a very fisher-friendly one! We have had high temps, and the local river is big… but it’s fishable… It’s been gradually coming off. Probably the main reason is due to a lack of rain, allowing for the perfect spring g runoff scenario.
The fishing won’t be easy, but with the right fly selection and some persistence in the soft spots, you can make some fish eat. Respect the river, it’s still big… but go enjoy before the crowds show up!
Big chubby with a deep dropper.. and let it hunt!!!
Be patient in the spots you believe there are fish! Target soft water but mid-depth. You have a better chance of the fish finding your fly in the off-color water, rather than the deep, slow runs.
Don’t forget pike trips!

Missouri River Fishing Report
The MO is really starting to pop off with the first pmd appearances. Making the nymphing good and dry fly targets worth looking for! With this crazy heat we have been having, it is a good idea to hit the water early. The fish slow down in the hottest part of the day. Looks like a bit of a relief is coming in the forecast, with cooler temps and even some rain. Make the best use of the weather and get out on the water!
Stay BENT, everyone!
