Flathead River Fishing Report
Hello BENT friends —
This past week was an absolutely amazing refresh that we desperately needed. We were blessed with cool temps, substantial rain, and even high mountain snow! All our rivers were happy to see the extra moisture. We are still below our average flows on most of our rivers for this time of year, but we are way better off than we were after this last week.
The local Flathead continues to produce good days. There have been some reports of good one day and not as much the next.. Overall though, still lots of opportunities out there. Good dry fly action mid-morning into mid-day and evening.
PMDs have been around (pale mourning dun).
Your favorite parachute mayfly should do the trick!
Wolf Creek + Craig
Missouri River Fishing Report
We have had a good week of boats on the Missouri River as well. There are still PMDs out. Also caddis. Nymphing overall is still great. Some days, the early morning is slower… Just be patient, it will pick up!
Lincoln + Ovando + Missoula
Blackfoot River Fishing Report
The Blackfoot salmonfly has dwindled a bit. But depending on the day. they are still somewhat prevalent up in the canyon. The fish are still willing to eat the big bug, though.
On another note, the caddis have been very predominant. I was recently out on a mid-river section, and we had caddis action all day!
Paradise + St. Regis
Clark Fork River Fishing Report
The Clark Fork seems to be our best overall fishing destination right now. No surprise there… Lots of big fish are hitting the net.
Both on big stone fly dries, and stone nymphs.
If the sun is high and the fish get finicky, change out your bigger stone dropper to a smaller fly. try a jig of some sort.
Good luck out there! We have lots of availability for guided trips in the coming weeks. Give us a call anytime to get out on the water,
