Flathead River Fishing Report
With the first week of July behind us, we are coming at you with some really good reports from our local Flathead River. It’s in great shape right now, and the dry fly fishing has been exceptional!
Our guides are having to pinch themselves; they have been having so much fun out there! Now, to be fair, I must mention that experience goes a long way on our local Flathead River. There are lots of opportunities out there with rising fish. Capitalizing on those opportunities is where the experience comes in.
But even for our very popular beginning anglers, we have been seeing lots of fish hitting the net!
We are still fishing bigger foam bugs and having success! Come out and enjoy the process, and watch some orange-belly cutthroat trout rise to a dry fly. Get it while it’s good, folks!

Blackfoot River Fishing Report
The Blackfoot has been good dropper fishing early! Later in the day, there are still plenty of caddis out. She is hovering close to 800 cfs. So low for this time of year.. but still great Blackfoot flows for the time being.
A nice foam bug up top with the CDC PT jig dropper has been our best setup.

Clark Fork River Fishing Report
The Clark Fork was blessed with a little cool down last week and is still fishing great! Early mornings are worth the wake-up on this river. The big stone dry fly bite when the early morning shade is still on the water has been exceptional!!
The mid to deep dropper will be the go-to once the sun comes up a bit. But every day is different. Some days, they eat that big bug all day up top. The Clark Fork River is definitely producing our biggest average-sized fish, with a great assortment of cutthroat, rainbows, and a few browns.
Purple chubby still getting chugged! Most popular droppers are the san juan, pat’s rubber legs, & pt jig.
