Fishing Report
February 5th fishing report and winter has really settled in these last few weeks. The temps have consistently stayed below freezing. 7 degrees today with a fresh 10 inches of snow here in Bigfork, Montana. But none of this has stopped us from fishing!!
We have just changed our fishing tactics a bit. We moved out of the boat and into a cozy ice house. Mr. Buddy heater cranked up with some good tunes and some extra good fish taco slayin!!
We have been jigging small green diamond jigs for perch.
Having most of our luck in the 25-30ft depth range. The bite has been really sensitive after first light.. they are eating it but watch the tip very carefully!! Most bites you can’t feel!! See the tip wiggle, set the hook! And it’s on.
Might as well have a tip-up set for a possible big pike cruising as well. The hard water game will probably be the go-to until this cold snap breaks in a week or so.
