Flathead River Fishing Report
I can’t remember a first week of August with this kind of precipitation in a long, long time. It’s been so nice! The rivers and the fish in them can’t thank Mother Nature enough!!
Being that the main stem of the Flathead is primarily west slope cutthroat, sometimes they get a little slower to rise to your fly in that cloudy drizzle. Our best reports all week were coming from the good old San Juan worm dropped below a hopper or a chubby. Those fish love the worm in the clouds and rain! Lots of happy customers this last week!
Paradise + St. Regis
Clark Fork River Fishing Report
The Clark Fork both needed and loves that weather more than any of the rest of our destinations!
For the first week of August, I would give it an 8 out of 10. Lots of fish are hitting the net! Both dry fly… hoppers, ants, and mayfly stuff. And if you really want to stack up your fish count, drop a pats rubber legs down there and hold on! The small mouth have been a super fun bycatch as well.
