Flathead River
Well, things have changed a bit since our last post.. sorry for the delay! We have gone from a cold, wet, late, spring and jumped right into the dog days of summer. Lots of our rivers are on hoot owl restrictions at the moment. This means no fishing from 2 p.m. until midnight. Honestly, though it’s better to get out early anyway..beat the heat, not the fish. This all being said, the fishing has been darn good locally. We have lots of boats going out and everyone is still having lots of success.
Our Flathead River has been fun with your favorite hopper and maybe a small ant behind it. Just stick with it and a beautiful cutthroat will come up and give your bug the chug!
We also had a great report yesterday with a size 12 rubber legs below the hopper. No weight. Just throw it in all those shallow riffles and let it swirl around below your hopper and bam!
Remember to do your best to keep the fish wet. If you want a nice picture get out of the boat and kneel down with your catch for a quick pic just barely out of the net and watch your prize swim away!
Stay hydrated out there friends!

Flathead Lake
Also, we have been putting a good amount of trips on both Flathead and Whitefish Lake. If you want to mix it up and go jig and or troll for some big lake trout give us a call! The bite has been rewarding! We have had success trolling and jigging.

red & white flat fish.
