The Blackfoot River is born on the summit of The Continental Divide near Lincoln, Montana. The Blackfoot offers stunning views and a great variety of trout including our native Westslope Cutthroat and Bull trout. There is also a good population of Rainbows and Brown Trout, making it one of the most diverse freestone rivers in the state. The Blackfoot River is also home to one of Montana’s most well known Salmon Fly hatches. With many boulder gardens and endless pocket water, make sure this river is on your bucket list.
If you’re traveling out of our hometown of Bigfork, Montana, or any towns in the Flathead Valley it will require a couple of hours of drive time. The scenery alone will make the trip well worth it.
